Totally renovated in 2010, this is one of the few remaining traditional beach boxes in Hatteras Colony! The lower deck is new and spacious. The upper deck covers the top 1/2 of the house where you can view the spectacular Atlantic Ocean! All interior walls are freshly painted plus new carpet and ceramic tile floors have been installed! You'll feel as though you are vacationing in a new home!!

This SUNDAY to SUNDAY rental is perfect for a small family or couples wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of daily living. This home was purchased to relax in and share good times with friends and family.

Our cottage is the third lot from the ocean!! With direct access, it's only an approximate 200 yard walk to the dune line and beach!

We purchased our little beach box in 2000. 2012 is only the third season it has been available to anyone other than our friends and family. 'Our Escape Hatch' is a simple home, but well maintained, loved, and beautifully decorated for those just 'wanting to get away'. In our twelve years of ownership, very few bells and whistles have been added - intentionally!! However, in the living room, you can expect a 32' TV with digital cable and a DVD player. Bring your favorite movies or rent them near by. There is a smaller TV in two of the three bedrooms. Wireless Internet is also available. A stereo is there for your CD's, cassettes, or listen to local radio. Ceiling fans are in all three bedrooms, the kitchen, and living room. There is a queen bed in two bedrooms and a double bed in the third bedroom. This home is meant for relaxation and for beach and outdoor activity lovers!

Enjoy the diversity the Outer Banks of North Carolina offers. There is surf fishing (NC license is required) or the Rodanthe Fishing Pier is just a couple of miles away (no license required for pier fishing). There is also charter fishing from Oregon Inlet or Hatteras Village. If water sports are your plans you are in the right place! You may want to climb the famous Hatteras Lighthouse a few miles south of Salvo or horseback ride in nearby Buxton. There are nature trails to explore at the Pea Island Welcome Center. End your day with a walk on the beach and a dinner prepared on the charcoal grill. For dessert, bring your flashlight for a moonlight walk on the beach and experience breathtaking starlit nights!

On the gentler side, if you want a 'night out', there are many wonderful restaurants nearby. Spa Koru offers a work-out facility or pamper yourself with a message, pedicure or manicure. It's only a short distance away in Avon. Just a 45-minute drive is a free ferry from Hatteras Village to Ocracoke where you can browse through shops filled with local art, enjoy fresh North Carolina seafood on an outdoor deck, or take a family bike tour of this quaint fishing village.

You can spend a week or a lifetime on the Outer Banks of North Carolina and never see or experience everything this area offers. Don't forget your camera...you'll want to capture the good times and beauty of what your time here holds.
